Ethically raised fish, shrimp & plants, with the hobbyist in mind.
Vivid Aquatics is a small, home-based breeding operation in the Chattanooga, TN area. No importers, no big-box turnover — just healthy stock, hand-raised and ready to settle into your tank.
Purchases and payment are handled through eBay's checkout.
Vivid Aquatics started the way most home fishrooms do — a single tank that turned into several, and a hobby that turned into something worth sharing. Every fish, shrimp, and plant listed here was bred and grown out on-site, not shipped in from a wholesaler.
The operation is run by an Army veteran who traded a sales career for full-time work at home, so every tank gets checked daily and every order gets packed by the same person who raised what's inside it.
Small batches. Honest descriptions. No livestock listed here until it's actually ready to travel.
Ready to ship this week
These are established and hardy enough to travel. Everything else is still growing — see the timeline below.
Java Fern — Windelov
Branched, finger-like tips. Low-light, beginner-friendly. A few standard (non-Windelov) Java Fern are also on hand in very limited number, only 3 in stock — ask if you'd rather have one of those.
Amazon Frogbit
Fast-growing floater that shades the tank and soaks up excess nutrients. Ships damp, not submerged.
Cherry Shrimp — Variable Grade
Easygoing cleanup crew in shades of red. Some may look Fire Red quality, but grade isn't guaranteed unless individually selected.

Red Rili Shrimp — Variable Grade
Cherry shrimp's translucent-patterned cousin. Same easy care, same grading note applies.
Ramshorn Snails
Low-maintenance algae eaters that breed readily — a reliable cleanup crew for any established tank.
What's in the grow-out tanks
Ages shown as of mid-September 2026. Nothing here gets listed until it's actually old enough, sized enough, and hardy enough to ship safely — follow along on social for the "it's ready" announcement.
Dalmatian Molly
First fish expected to reach sale size — likely the earliest listing after the plants.
Gold Dust × Dalmatian Molly
Marbled gold, black, and silver-white, some with lyretail influence. A one-of-a-kind cross, not a standardized strain.
Koi Swordtail (Kohaku)
Growing out now, expected up next after the mollies. Next planned pairing is with a Sanke Koi Swordtail once one's added to the lineup, adding black patches to the orange and white.
Blue-Eyed Lemon Bristlenose Pleco
Just hatched — earliest stage here, still well off from ready.
Venezuelan Orange Corydoras
Not in stock yet — breeding stock intentionally not spawning until grow-out space opens up. A future addition.
